Hey guys just a quick question, I'm having trouble removing the piece of trim that runs above the glove box that houses the centre and passengers side air vent could somebody please shed some light on how I can remove it...
Have removed the screw in the right hand but I just can't get the thing to budge.

Cheers
Sam

there are three fastenings on these.

1) Under the Cluster Fascia which is a phillips head screw clearly visible after removing the cluster fascia

2) Behind the dash there is a butterfly nut towards the passenger side of the centre air vent. You will need to remove the glovebox and the black glovebox beauty board to access this.

3) Towards the drivers side of the LEFT air vent (passenger) there is another butterfly nut that must be removed in the same way. This one is tricky go get your hand in so a bit of flexibility is a must.

When the screws have been removed, gently lift the trim from the DRIVERS SIDE and slowly pry the trim off the dash. The vents will lift off with it. When you get to the end, you'll find it tricky. You will need to pull away from the dash gently and also pull directly as there is a clip behind there that has an L shape.

It's easy once you've done it. good luck mate :)

Hmmm - that spammy thread directly above...... is it suggesting ALL 2nd Gen owners need a handbag, or only those who paint their dash? LOL. Jokes only.

I've just theived a woodgrain dash panel from wreckers and put it in a TR my brother/niece may use. That wingnut near pass vent is INSANE. I lost the wingnut at wrecking yard, scraped hands all-over, and needed rubber fingers to get to wingnut around the air-con duct. Despite this whingeing, I still DON'T need a handbag from the last post above.

There is one thing you can do, theres a small screw holding the air con tube on, if you undo thi screw, think its on the far LHS of the dash, you can move that tube out of the way to allow access to the wingnut easier, I'm sure that's how i did it anyway, last time I took a dash out was a while back
