Hey all, i'm fairly new to this forum but i've had a couple of magnas over the last few years. My recent addition is a 1998 tf solara and i can't for the life of me figure out why the interior light will not work! I've checked the fuse, the actual globe, the switch between off/door/on as well as checking if there was power going to it with a circuit tester (the actual plug). Whats my next option or is there something i haven't checked over yet? Btw i searched through a whole lot of threads and could find very little that related specifically too the interior lamp. I'd appreciate any help greatly

check the door switches. and make sure there is a good earth (ie the screw mounting to the car)
and double check the fuse/globe with a multimeter.

if you have power to the light and the globe wont work in the "on" position then it may be the globe itself
have you put a test light across the globe?
festoon globes are a real archaic peice of c##p and can appear ok to the eye but infact be buggered

In my 94 TS .. i seem to have some dirt/corrosion buildup resulting in the light not turning on.. I replaced the globes and it works heaps better. But if I wiggled the original ones it worked for a bit and stopped again - confused the crap out of me.

I went and got some LED ones from jaycar .. $7-$15 depending on the exact one (be careful theres both 31mm and 34mm and you need the right one.. i needed 31) .. much bluer/whiter light and much much brighter .. muchly recommended.

yeah, trying a new globe can also isolate the issue further, plus when it works you have a prettier colour :)

I picked up two blue ones for my TE which are ultrabright blue LED's, basically it's a panel with 24 (I think) LED's on there that sit in the roof light. but you can also get the smaller tube ones for about $10 each.
