Heyy guys,
Tomorrow i will be installing a Single din headunit for a friend ( this is my first time in a magna) in his VRX. He told me that he has a Tuner and a Disc Changer. Should i remove both, and install a pocket instead of the disc changer?
Cheers
Any thing else i need to know before i start?
are you sure the changer isnt in the boot?

The changer wont be compatible with a new headunit. Get a single din pocket from Mitsubishi. Make sure it is the right one though. There are two different types, one for Magnas/Veradas with climate control (aircon controls with the little screen) and one for those without climate control. I'm guessing you will need the first one.

What does your friend plan to do with the old HU and cd-stacker???
I don't really want the units so much, BUT I REALLY "DO" want the connecting cable which goes from OEM HU to OEM in-dash CD-Changer. Its a multi-pin cable, about 15cm long only, has round plugs at each end with 13-pins (other end may have 13 or 20 pins).
Please PM me if he plans to chuck or sell the old gear.
Reason being, I have brand-new 6-CD in-dash stackers from the Clearance Centre in Adelaide - cannot use these without that cable.
PS: I agree with "kj ei" - if he wants only the new HU, he'll need a Climate Control type single-DIN storage pocket for a VRX dash. Its possible some after-market pockets may also suit. Once you have the stereo-panel out of the car you'll see how the Cd-changer and HU are mounted, and how any dash-pocket you want will need to mount (I'm fairly sure you need one that is secured by screws from the sides. There are other "single DIN" accessories could also be used - plain storage drawers, CD drawers, centre-channel speakers in single-DIN enclosure etc..... you'll just need the find something which has compatible mountings for the Misti brackets.
