I would like to fit a readout which would count up to 5 and back with either 0 or N showing for neutral with a reasonable size LCD readout. I find that just the green dot get lost if you side lights or headlamps are on and also takes to long to focus on what gear you are in, maybe thats old age. Would anybody with electrical circut knowledge be able to do a circut for this PLEASE. Maybe there is someone using this already? if so would be interested in how you hooked it up.
Thanks.
Barry
How about gluing one of those long and thin magnifying lenses over the gear indicators so that they are the only ones magnified (pretty much like some of those plastic rulers which had a raised section in the middle and when you slide the ruler down the page, each line is magnified.)

Which model is this for?
If you've seen my ECU output stuff:

This is likely very possible .. but I'm guessing you have a Post-96 car so I would need to interface with ODB-2 which is not yet on my project goals (as I don't have an ODB-2 car .. atm .. but I plan to get to that)
But later on in a couple months maybe we can look at getting it out onto an LCD.

Im sure if you were creative enough you could pull out the cluster, transfer all the wiring from the little round green LEDs and wire them into the back of the lights behind the numbers/letters.

I think what he's after more so is a LCD display that shows what gear your in, like the ones in BA on falcons for example. No idea how you'd do it just clarifying whats wanted.

The little dots are near impossible to read when you have your lights on during the day.

Geez guys simple solution really. Get into superman mode! then you wont need glasses or nuthing..then again you wouldnt REALLY need a car either! lol. I agree tho the lcd would be a great idea...even pop in a digital speedo too. Unfortunetly iam just not eletrical enough, yet, to undertake something like this!

The car is a TW LS AWD and yes what I would like is a readout showing what gear it is in.
