Hey guys, just thought i'd finally post up my carPC that i've been working on slowly for the last 9 or so months... i'm considering selling it and just moving back to a conventional audio setup, but thought before I do that ill show it off :P

Click on this paragraph to see a video of how I have the system running at the moment so you can get an idea. The video is shot on my phone, so it's really crappy quality. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htjkTWSIG6I)

I am currently running Road Runner, and i'm not heaps good with programming and things like that so it's fairly basic at the moment. I've wanted to buy Centrafuse with GPS for a while now, which would make things a lot easier, but can't afford it lol. The main reason for this is that i've not been able to get the GPS up and running because I can't afford to buy the maps at the moment (or figure out any other ways)...

But yea in a nutshell this is my system...

Specs:
Screen - 7" Lilliput EBY-701 Touchscreen fabricated into centre console
Power Supply - M2-ATX 160W Intelligent DC-DC PSU
Motherboard - Intel D945GCLF Mini-ITX Motherboard with Integrated Atom™ Processor
Storage - 250GB Western Digital 2.5" Laptop Hard drive
GPS Receiver - BU-353 Weather Proof GPS Reciever
Memory - 2GB DDR2 Unsure of brand, Kingston maybe?
Wireless - WiFi 802.11b/g USB Mini-Adapter
Case - Currently all running out of an old small computer case I had lying around.
Cabling - VGA Cable from dash to boot
- 2x USB extension cables, one currently running to Glove box, one to under Centre Console (next to shifter - see pics below)
- Fused (25A) power cable running from Battery in Bonnet to PC Power Supply in Boot.
- Short Length of same power cable (maybe 80cm?) running from power supply to earthing point in boot
- Cable running from ACC input in head unit to Power Supply in PC (controls switching on and off of PC)
- Standard headphone type connector audio cable running from sound on Motherboard to Rear AUX in on head unit.

Pictures: See below, shot on my phone, so not the greatest...

Great effort! Nice recycle job on the case. no pun intended.

I was playing with road runner many a year ago and it can get very in-depth in the setup. i believe the newer version is a bit better. I got most stuff going after a bit off stuffing around

I think i might still have an old map gps data somewhere in my. prob 2000 map..if interested let me know and i'll email it to you. no promises.

love the screen how much are they these days?

all the best.

looks great!
Ever thought of mounting the pc in a false back instead of having it rustle around with the groceries?

cheers guys, i already created an EOI thread for it today to see whether it's worth selling it, should be up soon (whenever the mods approve it)

also if I do end up keeping it i'll be getting a smaller case and mounting it under the passenger seat or something when I get around to doing my boot install...

Any chance of a pic of the inside of the box?

love to get an ideal of the size! all this talk of car pc's has me thinking? yet again..built a couple for friends years ago but the new stuff is much better and smaller. My first build was a Pentium 1 desk top with a power inverter..lol.

cheers
keep up the good work.
