View Full Version : Leathers From Verada to Magna
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows much about seats in a '99 TH magna and 2002 Verada.
Someone's selling a set of front and rear leather seat covers originally from a 2002 Left Hand drive Verada. Any ideas if they will fit into my 99 TH Magna?

are these the beige ones that are on ebay all the time?
if so you gotta check whether ur back seat has head rests caus afaik, most magnas didn't whereas Verada's and therefore those seat covers do... I think there may have also been something else different bout the front seats but im not certain, so someone can correct me lol

If it's the ebay ones that mohit got, then there will be a hole on the passenger side (LHS) seat base for where the electric controls would be in a left hand drive verada/diamante..
See his thread in members machines to see how he went about rectifying that issue.
As for the rear seats - if you put these leather covers in a magna, you would need to source a varada back seat to get the headrests so the covers will fit properly.

there may be a difference in the the foam from magna to verada. your magna seats might have different groves in the foam where the wires from the covers clamp down onto the wires imbeded in the foam via c-rings, if that makes sense.

In old threads, a member who worked at Mitsi confirmed that Magna seat foams were different from Verada seat foams, and that the recesses in Verada seat foams were deeper/larger to accomodate the bulk of the seams for the leather covers. {EDIT: Meaning Verada foams from cloth seats are slightly different compared to Verada foams from leather seats.}
You definately need the rear set backrest from a Verada, to get the individual headrests, ie: headrest is seperate to the seat backrest (unlike base models which have no real rear headrest, and models like Sports etc, which merely have "pimples" on the backrest which are supposed to be the 'headrest').
Another factor to consider is that the leather E-bay covers do not have any material to cover the "inside" of the map pocket in the front seats - you (or a motor-trimmer) will have to source something to fabricate into that spot. And there is the small patch required on the passenger seat, as mentioned above.
IIRC, the passenger seat has a powered seat base in the export cars, and seat base is a bit wider overall, so adjustment or padding may be required.
Mohit's thread was full of excellent information, and he achieved a stunnning result.
I am still tempted to buy a set of these covers, and thought Ruddy stimulation may have been the perfect excuse..... however, funds seem to have been scant since I had a big buy-up at Caines treasure-trove in Adelaide, in Feb/March!!
