haha the cheapest and dirtiest way is to cut the springs. even i think this is silly. its not often best to go the cheapest way, though. id suggest lower, firmer springs and new shocks.

dont even need new shocks man!
just find a pair of cheap springs for sale.
used springs will be even cheaper. fit them yourself and mate you will be laughing!
DONT CUT THEM, or RESET them by heating them up. heating them you run the risk of actually snaping the coil.
cutting them is bad too, as it is still a soft spring, with just half the travel, so it will bottom out and still handle like a boat.:bash:

Low - Cheap - Quality (Pick TWO)
Low + Cheap = Not quality!
Low + Quality = Not Cheap!
Cheap + Quality = Not Low! (i.e the height you have now).
But seriously, save you dollars and get some proper springs, if you just want lows, get the springs and put them on your existing shocks, you don't have to get new shocks.
edit: If you want super lows its suggested that you will need new shocks too.

yeah thats your best option, some second hand springs that are lower than stock.
dont get superlows, you will have problems! normal lows are a good compromise.
if you fit them yourself you will need a spring compressor to take the pressure off the spring while you undo the strut mount, or if your dogey, you can still do it, i tried it once, but was a little dangerous, so i did it the long way

i ask an other guy the day before and he say if i put an other set of spring the shocks will not fit and even i put it in when the car goes it will make noise ...is that true ???

mate, if you get a set of springs, that are made for a magna, you will be fine.
just make sure they are off a magna/verada,
the overall height of the spring will be a little shorter but
the coils will be thicker, to give a firmer ride, so the car does not bottom out, to compensate for the reduced wheel travel, your standard shocks will be fine.

You can definitely get away with reusing your current shocks - plenty of members have done it. Keep in mind though that you'll get better ride and handling with new shocks.
Also, with the age of your car, there's a fair chance your shockies will need replacing regardless. Changing the shocks doesn't take much more labour than changing the springs, so unless they've been changed recently, I'd definitely recommend changing them too.

Cheap and easy buy some lowered springs and they are about $150 a set new and keep your current shocks - that is cheap
It will take you about 2 hrs to replace them with the proper tools

Everyone always wants the cheap and easy option, take the cheap and easy option now, regret it, then spend time and money again doing it right, or save up, and do it right this first time.
by right, I mean buy new shock absorbers aswell that are made for lowered cars

lol correct.
I got a set of springs for $150, fitted them myself - that took a day of swearing and messing around, but hey, low car for $150!
Quite a few months later I did the right thing and bought some shocks, spent about $250 on them, and then spent $300 having them fitted and everything balanced again, and realized I could have saved that whole day of labouring and messing about if I had just got it all done in one go.
Lower/stiffer springs look great and will handle marginally better than stock, but your stock shocks wont last long. Best thing to do is buy new shocks while you are at it (most people on here go with KYB)
