View Full Version : Front speakers not working
ok as far as i can tell front speakers are connected as is the tweeters that were orignally installed in my car on purchase. i have pulled the deck out and the cables as far as i can tell are connected but even when i put the fade all the way to front there is no sound, any suggestion ow yeh and the previous owner had a amp in the boot may this have something to do with it

maybe the front was hooked up to the amp? not the H/U
Looks like you have a lot of wire searching to do!
you may find the wires your after are in the head unit but go no ware.
sorry as with out a look thats the best i can do.
As you have the deck out try a spare speaker of the front channel to see if it works?
Go from there.....no easy fix im sure but it will work with a bit a persistence!

Follow the front speaker wires and see where they go, they will go inside the door loom if done corretly, you will probalby find they then go towards the boot instead of tyhe front of the car (where the head unit is).
Easiest test to do is:
pull the head unit out, leave it all plugged in (power, ground and antenna)
cut the speaker wires
put a speaker in you lap
connect your test speaker to each channel of the headunit
this will tell you if the unit is fine, last thing is to test if the speakers work (can be done the same way).
But like a said before, i would suggest the front speakers have not been reconnected to the head unit, so check this first!

Dont cut!!!!!!!!!!!!the wires spice a bit of them and use a muliti meter.!
but yer thats how you get there in the end.
no worrys looks like i have a job for after work tommorow
have had a look and the front speaker wires (grey and white) are going no where can presume that all speakers were running through amp b4 hand and back has been connected as it was prob the easiest cheers for help
