I'm just about to score the stereo out of my father in-laws vx gts and as far as I can tell, after consulting the owners manuals for both cars, the eurovox system is the same if not identical to the ones in the veradas. It has the double face head unit and the ten disc stacker, my question is will his stereo fit into my tf advance with out to much trouble or is the wiring loom completely different to the old radio/cassette deck? Your comments on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Dude the loom isn't the same but you can easily put any unit into any car. You just need to figure out what cable goes where

Correct. It all depends on the loom. You'll find that Eurovox will have the pin out assignments listed in their tech manuals (contact them and they'll fax it to you). If you're lucky they may even be on the unit itself (I doubt this one though).
The other option is to check out a good quality car audio store and you can buy loom harnesses that will fit OEM units or allow you to fit an aftermarket source unit into the OEM loom.
Gold Coast Car Sound has some and I think I may have seen them at Autobarn too.
The loom harness will set you back around $30 from memory.
Worst case, take it to an auto electrician and they should be able to trace the pin outs through the internal circuitry (not too hard). Try Eurovox first though. :D

Cheers thanks heaps for the help guys :D, yeah i think i saw somewhere that their HQ was in vic so ill find out where and get on to them. I called Strathfeild car audio and the guy said that it should be a peice of piss to install provided i could get on to eurovox or he could find an after market on similar but then he would have to do the instilation but i would rather i could save a few bucks and do it myself.
i wouldnt say piece of piss as with the commodore decks the use a double din cradle moutn which is very uncommon for doubel dins, most use bracket mounts, and from memory there ar eno mounting holes on the eurovox unit itself. as for the loom what deck is now in the commodore? if its after market pull it oul and see which wires have been tapped into for the new aftermarket loom, then hopefully the original loom should be still there, wirte it all down then chop it off one wire at a time, be careful not to leave nake wires.
