hey guys i have had a bit of trouble with my indicator since i have had my 97 tf, it started off that i could indicate right but left wouldnt work unless you held it in the "sweet spot" wich is about half way on, i got another 1 second hand from the guys at magna's are us that 1 wasn't too bad only didnt work every now and then. and then about 2 weeks ago i went back down to get my top engne mount replaced and a service and mentioned the indicator to them and they put the 3rd stalk in and this 1 is playing up too. works fine left but right doesn't work unless you get the "sweet spot" just thought i would throw it out there. and see if any 1 else has had any problems and if there is a way to fix it, other than paying $300 for the brand new stalk.

I had a weird problem too at one stage...

Sometimes indicating left, the indicator would just stay on and not flash. Turns out i needed a new flasher relay.


Firstly: Are the stalks new or second hand?

Secondly: If you can get ur hands on a spare flasher relay, try swapping it and see what happens?

nar there second hand, new ones are apparently 300 buks. and im not paying that much lol.

I just think for THREE stalks (even if they are second hand) to have the same exact problem is either a huge coincidence and massive bad luck or (more than likely) is not the problem at all.

My indicators buzz instead of blink if you put them on gently, but work fine if you tap them on quickly. Unsure whether the problem is in the stalk or further down the line

Sometimes if I push on them too lightly (i.e. not enough to make the indicator turn on) then yeah I get a noisy buzz, usually scares the crap out of me :P

This is certainly a stalk problem!

Has been discussed before. The connectors inside the stalks can be cleaned. There is a DIY somewhere on here.
