Hey guys i did a search on this but couldnt find anything (my search skills are hopeless so you may do better haha :P)
anyways ive got my grill off at the moment and was going to paint the mesh silver the same as the console. Now ive just done the console and it turned out pretty good i sanded, primed it then painted, do i have to do the same with the grill mesh??? I can see it been a real pain the **** sanding it so is it complety needed?? or can i just prime and paint?
thanks guys :)

If you mean sanding the mesh itself then no just paint it

I doubt sanding is needed but if it was me I'd give it a rub down with a Scotch-brite pad first then wipe with Prepsol.

Ahh I see. I thought you where referring to metal mesh like what people have been doing here. (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67106)
You want to give the new paint something to key into so yes I'd lightly sand it or at least rub it down with a scotch-brite pad (scouring pad - the green things you use for scrubbing pots and pans, but a new one ;))

If you are painting plastic mesh, you will need grey automotive scotch brite and use it with water to scuff the plastic as good as you can but it is very hard to get every crevise.
Then dry it all down then give it a good clean with prepsol(wax and grease remover) which you can purchase in small or big tins at super cheap and then plastic prime it,let it flash then hit it with colour and then clear coat if desired!
Hope this helps!
