Standard 3.5 but with mods, such as compression, cams, headwork and valve springs and ECU tune, you can build a stock 3.5 to ralliart specs very easily with the required bits

or for the same price to build one you could probably just buy a raptor super charger kit and make more power.

Thats debateable especially if ya shop around.... and before anyone says yes but i knoiw how to build a engine... well guess what i learnt by just getting in and doing it. :)

Yeah i was going with the concept that most people would be paying for labour as well. Even if you don't have to pay for labour i would think that the power per $$ ratio would make the supercharger a much more attractive option. More so now that we know the breaking point on the 6GXX engines and can tune to suit.

Although I like the Ralliart engine, if I owned a stock Magna engine I have to admit I'd be looking towards what my other engine mod options were before spending $$$ just trying to replicate a Ralliart engine.

Not for me. So far none of the SC kits available have appealed (except maybe the bullet setup) to me especially price Vs output wise. Im talking on a manual magna, if it was auto then forced induction is the best option due to the laggy, power robbing, slow shifting auto's that are in the magna which need all the torque the can find down low to get them off the ass.

i would go for a raptor charger or a turbo setup for just a standard 3.5 rather than trying to replicate the ralliart but gay p plates and vic roads say i cant lol. so if i can do a fast as **** n/a ill be happy. thanks for the info tho guys much apreciated.

For the same sort of money you could use better parts and make more power than a ralliart motor (eg. pacemakers instead of ralliart headers, stage 1/2 cams instead of ralliart cams)

read jasons VRX, ride thread, 200KW atw NA is pretty nice, considering the raptor and sprintex guys are only running about 180kW@ wheels, (stock boost)

yer im thinking scrap that idea lol i checked the price of a 3.5l motor 1500 then labour to put it in aswell as all the work to make it ralliart spec. not reali worth it if you put it that way.

Isn't there rules against engine mods for P-platers anyway?

Yeah but one thing that NA will never get as close to FI in is torque, the supercharged guys would more than likely have over 450NM, that isnt really possible with an NA motor.

"Sir please remove your cams so we can check lift"

You can easily have a 200kw+ NA magna and the boys in blue would not have a clue. Just gotta be smart about it.

Well either that or buy a bridgeport rotory :P

Manuals dont really need as much torque as the autos and i can tell you my NA donkey engine has a bloody nice amount of midrange torque. One thing at least my cheapish build up wont do pistons in like the forced guys which then adds more to the cost of the SC or turbo build up
