View Full Version : my *******ing amp !!!!
ok so i have a slight issue the amp i am running atm is a us audio 4 channel piece of krap. i bridged the channels yesterday to see if i would get more kick out of my subs. i drove to work this morning and the amp kept cutting out stopping the subs to work. its happend ever since i got it. but its ok when its not bridged but the subs dont kick bairly and it sounds ****. i was just wondering is it the amp that is the problem or the car ? god i wish k-rudd the dudd gave me 900 dollaz to solve this dilema, but no no no *******ing no he had to be a a-hole. lolz
When you bridge an amp, generally it will only work at twice its lowest Ohm. Your amp im guessing can go down to 2ohm, which means bridged - it will only work at 4Ohm.
So if you're subs are wired at 2Ohm, you have a slight issue of overheating the amp.
You want good bass, get a decent amp.
so its not the car thank christ for that lol lol yer im getting a kicker monoblock and then ill use the 4 channel for the inside speakers. god audio stuff is technical, i realy dont understand all the ohm's and stuff lol.
If its a 4ch thats only running 2 subs, bridge 2 channels and run that to 1 sub, and the same for the other, match the low pass and gains, and it should be "ok".

ok you bridged the channels.
Not the best move but check the settings on the amp.
Also wire correctly eg two subs in sink or paralllel..i think?
If the amp can go To 2 om sweet then wire right..... you may need to cross wire.
Hard to explain in a post, but all the best.
so i was wondering what should i put the amp on lpf or hpf and 2 channel or 4 channel and wll i have to change the rca cables around???

Definately low pass filter for subwoofers otherwise you will fry the subs..
