I have a feeling "Righty" works with JVC, you might like to try a PM to him?

Unfortunantly there is no GPS support on that model, however you could get a Tomtom go with AV out to run video and sound through it... But it would not use the touchscreen function.

It would be cool if HU's used some kind of operating system making it possible to add different applications

The new pioneer ones in the US are actually running a new version of windows known as "Automotive edition" - Check it out here: http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2005/jul05/07-12WinAuto5PR.mspx :)

Thats just stupid. Really, whats the point of buying a GPS seperate, and then running it through your stereo???

Not only will you be bored ****less cos you wont be able to listen to music or watch something interesting, but you'd be annoyed with the stupid voice "keep left and then, enter the motorway"

The KW AVX-710 does not have navigation support, unless you do as Life suggested, but as commented by VRXChiq, it's pretty useless :P

Just to clear it up for anyone else that wants this feature, the 2009 range of JVC Double DIN AV Units are all Navigation Ready (KW-AVX626, KW-AVX726, KW-AVX826) they'll be available in leading car audio dealers within the next few weeks and start from RRP $1099

/plug

Is it just Firmware? What stops the older models from having the firmware upgrade and then plugging the GPS module in? Anyway hardware differences your aware of?
