Sorry to hear about your car... but didnt the horn going off once they opened the door make a loud enough sound? Unless they reached in and took stuff from the seat .. this why you want the ultrasonics?

Thats exactly what happened and why I want Ultrasonic. Had a few quotes for a Custodian and a Cobra upgrade pack for around $500 installed.
Anyone else had these fitted?

So is "broken into" the correct term? If the window was open, they didnt exactly break into the car did they. If they broke the window, doesnt the stock alarm pick that up?

Cheers

I should have stated that my car was locked at night with windows up. I want ultrasonic because they never opened the door. The factory alarm is only connected to the doors boot and bonnet and unless these are opened then the alarm will not sound.

You ca upgrade the factory alarm. You can hae an impact sensor (also known as a shock sensor) fitted to the factory system. If anyone attempts to break a window, the alarm will be triggered

So is it best to buy an upgrade alarm or just upgrade the 380's factory alarm.
