G'day all, new to the place, and signed up to maybe get a little help with the wife's '98 model TF 3.0L V6 sedan (If I could get one with a 5.0L V8 I'd have one too).

The real issue at the moment is that I picked up a new thermostat, to try and cure some overheating issues, but...well....it doesn't appear to be where I expected. Any info on this is greatly appreciated.

I grabbed the 6G72 manual, but it doesn't seem to be covered in there, at least I couldn't find it. Sorry if this is already posted somewhere, but went back several pages and didn't see a thread that covered it.

Welcome to AMC, best bet is to use the search feature there is HEAPS of info on this site. (Although I just did a search for 'thermostat' in the 3rd gen forum and only one other result apart from this thread came up)

Check out this thread for Thermostat Change (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63528&highlight=thermostat)

Thermostat is on the housing at the end of the bottom radiator hose, hard to explain but look where the hose hooks upto the engine

Did you get a normal thermostat or a high flow thermostat? Not sure if both are available for the Magna, but the high flow ones have a much larger opening area, which can help during summer.

I know where you mean, cheers. It was the only place I could think would house the thermostat, due to size of the part, just wanted to be sure.

Pretty sure it's a standard flow item.
