referring to the attached pic do you think I would be able to take off the bits i have circled and give them a spray paint in black and attach them back on?

Why do you want to paint them black? If you're going to the trouble of taking them off, I reckon you'd be better off to colour code them with the rest of the car.

If you want to paint them black because they've faded, Mothers Back to Black works incredibly well at restoring trim.

+ 2 For colour coding, plus while you're at it do the mirrors & the mouldings on the doors too.

Hell, go the whole hog & do the door handles as well!

I wish I could change the color of my car but oh well..
So how would i go about taking them off? Just rip them off and then stick them back on with some sort of glue?
And color code, what color suits it do you think?
Cheers

Colour coding refers to matching it to the exact same colour as the rest of the car.

There's a how-to guide on painting here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53334). If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, get a professional to do it.

I reckon you should go with your original idea and paint them black.

Will look good IMO.
