check the wire that runs to it (its a white one on the end of a plug at the back of the dash... there is another white 1 thats in the middle of a plug) but be careful not to touch it while the car is running... TRUST ME its painful.

Do they have a noise filter inbetween the dash and the coil signal wire? thats my guess... same thing has happened to a friends car

mine dont work either, it works when its really cold though,
i took it in mitsibits and they said $80 to have it fixed
i was thinking "thats not a common problem, never heard of it before" and it seems now everyone has it except me.
Im lucky, got one of the least stuffed ones

maybe ill give that ago first but it looks like the 80 buck option would be the best way to go cause i hear that the dash is easy to remove but i dont wanna f*ck anything up on it cause i dont want my odometer to stop before it hits 300000

the dash is really simple to take out... only 6 phillips head screws. mine is a pain in the arse to put back in now cuz i have freaking wires going everywhere from the digital dash conversion.

did you end up getting your dash clock and odometer working i would like a digital dah but i wouldnt have the patients and i wouldnt know what im doing and i wouldnt wanna pay anyone were does the rpm wire run to do you know cause im hoping the wire is just f*cked so then at least i know whats wrong
yeah i got the same prob here
millert85: u say theres 6 screws... do u know roughly where they are?
TPMagnaSE in need if mods: the white wire should go to around the distributor...

u'll see on the bottom edge of the dash (on the side of the row of lights) there is 2 little vent looking things... CAREFULLY stick a flat screwdriver in the hole in them and remove them... be very careful cuz they are quite fragile... believe me both mine snapped in 2.
once those 2 are out the face of the dash will pull off... just grab thething and wiggle it out... soon as u move it u'll understand what i mean by the face... then there is 4 more behind that (2 each side) that let the main unit come out.
Yes the clock and odometer are working now... i just had to run a contant power line... took it from my head unit and put a 5A fuse in line.
i love my digital dash... but u'll be hard pressed to find 1 at a decent price. i think the wrecker quoted me over $100. but if u's are still keen and can get 1 (make sure u get the couple of plugs that go in the back... i think there is 3) then i will write up a complete how 2.
Tim
what does your odometer read? i mean is it somehow kept in the ecu memory, or is your car set back to 0k's?

its stored in the dash itself. the odometer was working ok, it was the trip meter. so when u change it over the dash just reads the same as what it had done in the other car, same as if u changed the analogue dash... :dancin: only 178,500 km instead of 400,000km :dancin:

i have decided to take my car to the auto electrician on friday to fix the tacho i think it may be the voltage regulator behind the dah cause my fuel gauge doesnt read properly (i have tried 2 fuel sender units and they did the same thing) and my clock keeps turning off and restting to 1:00 so ill let yahs all know what i paid to give everyone one a rough idea

u just pull the little venty thingos out... remove those 2 screws and the "face" will pull out (drop ur steering wheel right down to get it out easier) then there is 2 on each side behind that. it should just wriggle out. try again and if ur still having probs i'll try find some batteries and get some pics.

The Tach is a common thing.
I have changed many TM - P ones over for various people.
Most self serv yards will give you a whole instrument cluster for around 35 to 40 bucks

really cause i took my car to the auto electrician and he had it for half the day and told me that the fuel gauge alone would be 100 buks to fix and probably more for the tacho he told me the best thing to do is buy a dash from the wreckers and they will put it in for me but they didnt charge me which is good im taking the car to a mechanic on wednesday to get an electronic tuneup so im hoping that might make the car idle a bit better and its only 50 buks so if it doesnt do anything ill get over it i wander if i could get a refund if i put a new dash in and it doesnt work

if u go get a dash from the wreckers its just a matter of pluging the 4 or so plugs in to the right spots.
... digital dash conversion tho is a lot of crimping. (but easy crimping)

no i just got the instrument part of the dash so yeah the key still works but i did notice the fuel gauge dont work in the morning like it siezes up or something but if i give the panel a whack it works im hoping maybe thats cause the dash has been sitting round for a while and it will fix itself
