Hey all
Lately my tippy auto has been slipping on 2-3 gear changes, its kinda flared a little since i bought it but just recently over the last couple of weeks been getting much worse.
The 2-3 changes slip alot, but other changes seem ok.
The bands aren't adjustable in our boxes are they?
If im gonna have to fix or replace my box im gonna do a manual conversion instead.
So if anyone wants to start throwing manual conversion parts at me i won't mind

i believe there are some parts around, in the F/S section, for a 3.0L the only difference is a shorter ratio in 1st.
but cheaper option is going out and finding a wrecked magna, i did it! had all the parts/bolts i needed, and could see how everything was bolted up to the car, then call a auto recyclers, and they will take the shell away for free

Ive seen the 3L box in the FS section, gonna try to source a 3.5 first
Yeah if i can find a wrecked car cheap enough i will do that for sure.
A panel beater mate of mine nearly bought a wrecked 5 speed the other day dirt cheap as he needed some panels and stuff, when he told me about it today i was like :chainsaw: 'dude you knew i was looking for a 5 speed'

Have you had the transmission oil flushed recently? If not give that a go. My Verada used to have a bit of flaring 2-3 but after a flush at Mitsu it was heaps better.

It's possible the transmission is overfilled/underfilled or using the wrong transmission fluid. I had my TL transmission flushed at a mechanic with proper Mitsubishi transmission fluid after I bought it and it still slipped. Checked the level and it was too full, so I flushed it myself and now it's fine.

It was flushed by Mitsu and filled with the Mitsu fluid, but i will be checking to make sure its not over filled.
I wouldn't think that would be the case though as its seemed pretty good for the last couple of months after the flush.

VRX_MY02 has a trans one from a SII VRX that is in great shape, I drove the car before we started to pull it apart and was very smooth in the changes
Just depends which Trans you have, the 4 or 5 speed tippy.
If it is the 4 speed, any trans from even a non tippy will go in as the function is TCU controlled not Trans controlled.
