hows it going guys.
We're having a trouble with our 02 liberty heritage.
When the car is under load, it feels as though it is cutting out with a small pop from the engine bay. This does not happen once. it cuts out many times when under load. to put it in context, it feels like a carby when it's dirty, with limited fuel getting through.
I've floored it and had the result, however, below approx 2500RPM, there is no cutting out at all.
Car was services at 194,XXX and is now due for another service (+major) ad 204,000.
Now, I know what you're going to say, 'car with high k's' etc etc, but rest assured it has had its service EVERY 10,000km (up to 150,000) at Subaru Thomastown with the last 50,000 at Mitsubishi in Dandenong. Car has not had a single issue in three years of ownership.
Please help, mums getting worried and is starting to get scared of taking the car to work in fear of a breakdown...
Thanks

I'm unsure, wouldnt that be a service item though? witht he service still relatively fresh, I'd assume this would be okay?
Dirty injectors, o2 sensors, air flow meter
I am also thinking possibly destroyed sensors. The popping from the engine bay, which sound like backfiring (not loud, just slight pops) lead me to believe it's spark plugs or something with the induction system though. possibly dirty injectors. It really does feel like it's a dirty carby...I'm baffled. lol. there's just so many things it can be right?

are the leads ok? they're not arcing or causing flashover? i had a similar problem with plugs and leads when i got my car.. same symptoms as you're describing
even if it is a service item, they can still breakdown or be faulty so have a squiz at them i reckon :)

okay excellent, i'll pull the leads off tomorrow afternoon and have a look at them. I pushed them in at the spark plug just before to make sure they werent loose or anything, all were well connected. the issue persisted
withthe mention of limp-home...I dont think it could be because it changes gear perfectly. damn i just wish I had the USB cable for mums fone!

Pull a plug or two out and have a look too.
I would suspect plugs or leads with what you're describing, sounds like a spark issue. It's not too expensive to change plugs and leads.
