Hey guys, first post for me, so i will be quick and get to the point. I just started upgrading my magna and my next step is extractors and mufflers. Im in W.A. and my mechanic from PSA has suggested Manta extractors and a mid n' rear muffler(from manta). Im just curious if any1 has heard or had this setup, as i have heard so many **** exhaust systems on magnas. I dont want to have to replace it with a lukey down the track(as most seem to have). The only mods i have done engine wise is the K&N rampod. Thanks for any1 who replies. Its good to hear other magna lovers opinions.

Trust me when i say that an exhaust fitters best selling point for what ever product they can get at the time.

ARSS55... I dont use use that exhaust centre....that was the only location i could find manta exhausts on a quick search. They have lukey underneath manta...does that mean lukey are bad too. I am just curious, like i said before "has any1 heard or have this system?". My point is, change can be good pacemakers and rpw, and lukey....thats all i hear...they might be the best according to most, but if u have not tried many others....how would u know....? And by the way i have been assured no droning which is my biggest fear as i have an auto.

I said that because i was an exhaust fitter for 7 years and i couldn't stand the fact that my salesman always used that line to customers and every 2nd customer would come back complaining due to crap sound and quality.

sorry mate, i didnt mean my post to come across bad... its just i can get rpw extractors and a lukey muff for around 1K, a manta system for 1.4K....what are pacemakers worth? and r they that much betta... a lukey muff is around $225, the mantas r $270. extractors from rpw r $780 odd plus gst and manta r $780 plus install...im new to the magna mods...so dont take my attitude the wrong way....im only afta help, and im thankful for it.

Personally i would go for pacemakers and lukey. In my experience it seems to be the combination that gives the best results, not to mention the most requested.

whats the price on paccies?
I got quoted just under $900 installed from carline in Midland (Perth). But that is a little higher than most places charge I think..

Thanks Rory...pacemakers for that price would b worth it. u hear different from every1.... im told i should get topd end koni front shocks, appose to front strut braces and an anti lift kit. ive heard the same from anotha...so i dont know. rpw told me bout the stuts and antilift... so i dont know what advice to take...hence im tryin to research

I'm with altereality... I've never heard of Manta either. No one here runs one, as far as I know. I'd definitely stick with what's tried and trusted.
The factory headers are quite good. Even a good set of extractors like the Pacies or RPWs only make a few kw improvement at best. I'd be worried that a lesser set of extractors wouldn't actually make a difference compared to stock.
And by the way i have been assured no droning which is my biggest fear as i have an auto.
The Lukey muffler everyone recommends is what comes standard on the Sports/VR-X models. In factory form it's not too loud, but doesn't drone.

Stiffer springs and better shocks all round should be your starting point. King Low or Low SP would be your picks for off-the-shelf springs - the SP is slightly stiffer, but the Lows are lower. Then add a nice set of shockies - KYBs are popular, but Konis would be worth it if you're prepared to spend the extra. Then go for thicker Whiteline swaybars front and back.
The jury's out on the front strut brace - some people notice a difference, others can't. They aren't overly expensive though, so it probably wouldn't hurt. I'm not too familiar with the anti lift kit, but I wouldn't bother with it until you did springs/shocks/swaybars.

got the king super lows. was looking at extractor/muffler upgrade, then the koni shocks.
i dont know how far want to go afta that...as im thinkin an aftamarket ecu, fuel reg, trans oil cooler, and maybe fuel rail, injectors...but im not 100% sure how far i will go
my missus drives it to work and the shops....i drive it afta work and on the weekends...so im not 100% sure yet,. Thanks for your input and time

antilift apparently gets more front whell traction...stops the engine from lifting as much on takeoff(hence wheels dont lift up as much) apparently

On a stock 3rd gen engine headers/extractors are not value for money. Only worth 2-3kw maximum. The rear muffler though is a very different story. Stock is very restrictive so get a VR/VR-X rear and get an easy 6-8kw.
What you save on the headers put aside for a CAT (it will eventually start to fail or block up) or a good set of dampers such as Koni or Boge. You also need good tyres in a sensible size. Maxxis MA-Z1 are good value for grip in wet.
Cheers,
Alan
