Hi Guys,

I have had my 380 for about 3 weeks now and I am very impressed.

Just curious to know how much power the 5spd autos can handle in the 380s? I has anyone fitted a transmission cooler to their 380?

Also, has anyone had any issues with the 5spd auto in the 380s. So far I have been pretty impressed by how good of transmission the 380 has.

Correct me if wrong, the 5spd auto in the 380 is basically the same as the 5spd auto in the later model magnas?

Are all the ratios exactly the same as the magna?

Cheers

Braedz

assume different ratios as doesnt the 3g magna rev higher at most speeds? or is that just due to more power?
can you tell im not mechanically minded? lol

I wish my 2nd gear is 2.162. 2.057 is just a tad too tall.

Well given that the 380 TMR used basically an unaltered 5 speed I would say that they could take a fair whack of power and torque without too many issues.

OP, its not power that kills gearboxes, its torque.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm at work hence don't have the 'box codes) but wasnt the Invecs II 5 speed tippy fitted to Evo 7-9 GTAs? (IIRC Evo GTA's were J-Spec auto Evos)

I think that is what the AWDs Magna/Veradas have. I thought the 380 had Invecs III.

I read some where the AWD 5 speed was good for 550nm, assume the same for 380 5 speed? I also believe they are INVECS II not INVEC III which is a CVT??

Hmmm posted more questions then answers but food for thought.

Ahh, yes, Invecs II. Wife's Outlander has Invecs III 6 spd CVT.
