you mean SE? and you mean the 3.0L engines/ as the 2.6 had the crap intakes going over the engine so couldnt really consider it as a proper CAI

The Si was the same under the bonnet to any other TS V6, eg no cold air intake. For their day the Si was a very nice package.
The Si was a limited build of only 500 or similar exclusivity and I think only 3 colours.

No, he means SI
There were only a handful made in all, well a lot less than the main line models, they were a basic exec V6 with either auto or manual, boot wing, alloys and that was about it. Do not even think they had cruise but correct me if I am wrong.
The SI series was also carried over in a limited number of third gen series as well with the same wheels and options
In answer to the question, the SI mechanicals were no different at all to the Magna range

There was no official leather option under TR TS. Yes some do have leather and this is because some dealers were fitting it for 4k cost price as there was a guy in the trade closely aligned with some of the big dealers.
Under TR no SEs were available with the V6, only Executive had V6 as an option. The thinking was that if someone wanted a V6 dearer in value than an Exec, they should purchase the Verada Ei without the alloy wheel option or power windows, however this was soon dropped and Verada was then offered with alloys and windows as standard
Under TS the SE was finally available with the V6 but only in auto.
The TS Si were all V6

No, the SE was a luxury Magna package also. There was also the Elites in the TR's. KrazyKR has a Verada with hardly any power options.

As I said in an earlier post, for approximately the first 6 to 8 months on Verada Ei power windows and alloy wheels were an option. Ei was originally intended as the cheapest way to get a V6 before the release of the V6 Magna Executive.
I also remember when the Executive first received the V6 as this was first time a manual became available with the V6. At this point the police started using them and Mitsubishi had a great add with a red Executive with blacked out windows racing up a twisty bit of road.

The SI I saw was red and it really did look the trick.
I spoke to a car broker and he reckons the 1gen elante is worth more and rarer, around 5k for an ordinary (condition)
sample.
I have decided what I am going to do to mine now, getting cat back exhaust, K&N panel filter, King 30ml lowered springs, 15 inch alloys(already purchased and on), mp3 player, replacement 4" speakers for the front, 6*9 rear,
Hoping to achieve this for under 2k, will be pushing it though, wheels/tyres $550, exhaust $330, quote for springs all fitted $650, that's $1530 so far without the filter and audio, should be nice though, sound better, handle better, a little faster than standard.

No 2nd gens had a cold air intake, all the intakes 4 and 6cyl were the same setup.

link to pic of SI for those playing at home:

never actually seen one in that color though, only ever seen red or white in person
would be a great base to start from (already color coded, spolier and decent rims)

The TS V6si, as many have already said, was a really snazzy limited edition package for its time.
Full colour-coded bumpers, front grille, side strips and mudflaps, dual chrome exhaust tips (like Verada), rear spoiler, unique interior velour trim etc.
Available in manual and automatic. All were V6, of course.
Colours available were : White, Champagne, Red (Non-metallic), Dark Charcoal, and maybe one or two others that slip my mind right now.

Cobra, TR but still had all the above, dunno about the "unique" velour but had velour anyway
and fyi TR/TS front bar = same
the V6si TS velour trim is indeed unique to itself.
I've not seen any other model (mainstream or limited edition) with the same fabric pattern.
Maybe it may have been used for some NZ cars, I don't know.
Some of the seat trim used on NZ V3000's (TR/S) are scary....for example, there was a dark blue velour with pink polka dots. Yes, pink polka dots.

*flicks through V3000 brochure*
Didn't find the pink polka dot one, but there looked to be a grey one there with a pink dot patter of some sort :woot:
dots looked like this -o- going over the whole seat. bloody hell that is bad!
