i ran a 4g wire from batt to splitter then 8 or 10g (not sure) to each amp

only need one power wire coming from the battery to a distrobution block then from there to the amps power
run 4ga from the battery to the distrobution block and 8ga from there to the amps, well you could go all out with 0ga and 4ga but hey its up to you :)
make sure you have nice thick short grounds from each amp to a bare metal chassy point
you can loop the remote wire from one amp to the other tho
and you'll need 3 sets of RCA's (if your deck has 3 pre-outs) 2 sets to the four channel and the other to the mono
if you run it to a splitter do you still get full power to each amp or is it only like half power ?
right so all a splitter or distrobution block does is turns 1 power cable into 2 and then you just earth both amps? and why so many rca's i have 1 set for my 4 channel now thats running my subs? and to loop the remote wire how would i go about that ?

Each amp will only draw the power that it needs.
If you are running 2 amps I would strongly suggest that you upgrade to at least 4 guage cable. You will be able to get all the power your amps need down that.
Do NOT do as in your original post and connect the negative of the 1st amp to the positive of the second!!!! Use a splitter from the battery to the 2 positives of each amp. The the -ve from each amp secure to the chassis as close as you can to the amp (less than 1m is a good rule of thumb).

Correct about the splitter.
You need a set (2, typically colour coded white and red) for:
Front
Rear
Sub
What ever you aren't using in the above list you wont need a set of RCAs for! Make sure you have the correct RCA outputs from your headunit though... they should be labelled.
Looping the remote wire is easy. Go from the remote output from your headunit to the remote input of the 1st amp and then to the remote input of the 2nd amp. Its just a single wire.
ahh so cut enough wire from the remote wire off and from the headunit to the mono and then another wire in the same hole and from the mono to the 4 channel.
ohh and also how many watt amp should i be looking at to run my 2 subs will 400 be enough???
