Well today I installed my old headunit and sub in my car (TW), and everything works fine except my headunit isn't saving any radio stations when the car is turned off and then on again, thought it could be maybe the constant power and acc wires were wrong but multimeter says otherwise. Next thought is maybe its the memory cable itself.
Any thoughts on what this could be???
Also does anyone know what the pink, green/white stripe and black/yellow stripe wires are for, I'm assuming one is for the illumination and one is for the security codes.
Would I be correct in assuming aswel that the extra plug (not talking about the black antenna wire) in the factory headunit is for the power antenna?
Cheers.
Mat.
Have you used the multimeter on the pin in the headunit loom that corresponds to the constant wire from the battery to ensure current is making it to the headunit? or just tested it on the crimp/solder connection between the loom wiring and factory wiring?
Edit:
Pink: Power antenna
Green/White Stripe: I think thats to do with the Radio Controls on the Steering wheel in Xi Veradas or Half Height for the power antenna. Its one of the two I'm pretty sure.
Black/Yellow: Illumination from memory.

I used the multimeter on the factory headunit plug and then again on the crimp after I found out there was no memory.
If the pink is power antenna does anyone know what the extra plug is for wire is blue with black insulation around it.
Cheers Mat.

Is the blue one wrapped with the pink one? Probably the half height function if it is.
So your installing the factory headunit again when you say old headunit, or an old aftermarket one?

Yeah its an old JVC one, not installing the factory one again, sorry about that should've been a more clear.
The blue wire isn't wrapped in pink, its off the factory head but it's all by itself (as in not running to the same plug as the power, speakers etc).
Cheers.

The blue wire on its own smaller plug - on my KJ anyway - is the phone mute wire, coming from the phone kit connector under the lower console (near gearshift and cupholders). Its in a smaller plug with 6 possible connectors, only one of which (the blue wire) is fitted in the plug.
Hope that's what you meant.
