Wanna get some new wheels soon. The VRX 17's are great but from time to time they appear too small so after spending a while searching tempe tyres and realising their rims are wayyyyy too expensive I started browsing the Bob Jane site and came up with two possible candidates.
RJR Linears

Auscar Akuza

Most likely be getting 18's, and given about 3 weeks of saving I should have'em but whats everyone's opinion eh?
Not selling anymore?
Second ones look good... But ROH Flare look a bit better in the same style.

No not selling, skyline would be preferable but this will have to do for now I guess.

Lot of people on here have the RJR Linears look good, i reckon a 5 or 6 spoke shadow chrome would look better

Tempe are too expensive?!!?
Linears work well with radas, they have a "classy" theme to them, but they don't look very sporty. Try to find something with a 5-8 spoke, much sportier :)

Yea even though most members are for the Linears I kinda prefer the Akuzas cause of the tough looking sporty theme.
Have any members got Akuzas on their magnas? Wanna post some pics?

Look at pics of Buzzi's old ride. Think it was a black VR-X with chrome Linears.

dude vrx is fast and racey! You dont need class..you need speed! lol I rekon go something in the form of the azuka's..fat 5/6 spoke mofos. Linears are as everyone mentioned more 'class' and you'd need to go 19's on them to really see a 'difference'. Ive got 20's of 'classy' wheels and even then they dont look as big as they should!

I had the RJR Linears on my of VN Commodore. I had the Black/Sliver ones but had issues with the clear coat lifting. I also spoke to Bob Jane at the riff about a month ago and they said they don't sell the linears anymore.
Linears look hot on 3rd gens IMO. Chrome would suit the VRX, buzzi's old VRX had the 19" chrome linears and looked mad.

That said 5 spoke rims usually looked sportier so to speak. Hyper black linears wouldn't work all that well on a VRX imo.

Davo! actually owns buzzi's VR-X now. Check out his Member's Machine thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66599&highlight=davo) for more photos. Personally, I reckon the Linears suit it perfectly, although as stated, they're not really a 'sports' rim. I'm not a fan of the Akuzas at all tbh - given the two choices, I'd definitely go the Linears.

Linears are no longer available. definitely not in 19" or 20".
Didn't ask for smaller sizes as was not interested.

lol fair enough well then I'm open to suggestions. Keep in mind a set of those rims, without tyres was only going to cost me about $460. Tyres will come later but definatley gettin Kuhmo Ecsta SPT.

how did you come to the conclusion that tempe tyres is too expensive?
$460 for 4 18" rims is jsut screaming for trouble. mine cost nearly that per rim and even they are considered 'average' quality. i bet they'd easily dent on a pothole and the clearcoat wouldnt last a few australian seasons

They're bob jane specials what can you expect! Still a few members had them so they can't be horrific.
Again if you have a solution feel free to throw it out there but for the whole deal, rims and tyres Im looking to spend roughly 1k.
How about these?

I had a look at the tremors, they are a nice looking rim but I want something with a bit wider spoke. What i'd really like is a set of mesh rims like Muzzi has but couldn't find a set on Bob Janes.

With bigger brakes, you can always look at a 380 brake upgrade, paint them bright red to show off :)

The Linear and Akuza are both listed in the latest catalogue as clearance rims, so unless you snap up one of the clearance items, you'll most likely have to fork out a fair bit more than $115 a rim...

Have a flick through Tempe, Jax Quickfit, Bobjane and eBay, and you'll struggle to get anything for much less than a grand. The cheapest on Tempe is about $1200, and the cheapest wheel and tyre package in the latest Bob Jane catalogue is $1200 too.
If you're only looking at spending a grand, I'd seriously consider buying second-hand.

If you're only looking at spending a grand, I'd seriously consider buying second-hand.+1. I picked up my 19" Enkei RP03s with 50%/near new pairs of tyres for $1460. Look how much they're worth new...
