noticed the ts is getting a bit more stiff with the manual gear shifting of late when its cold of a morning... i take it gently and slow till its warmed up a bit.. .. cars only done 100k, on the very odd occasion it also grinds so has anyone got any idea whether it may just be a simple adjustment?

when was the last time you changed the fluid?

Mine used to do that, would crunch or almost crunch going into second the first few times after just starting it up in the morning.
Changing the gearbox oil seemed to help, then when i got my clutch replaced that seemed to help a bit more. It never totally fixed it though. I think unfortunately its just part of the general wear and tear of the gearbox over time.
Nowdays i actually have more a problem with third, dosn't go into third as smoothly as other gears.

could be synchros on their way out?

Possibilities:
Too thick oil - try castrol VMX80
Low oil level - synchros starved on startup.
Clutch adjustment wrong.
Warped clutch plate.
Grinding of gears is often a sign of sticking synchro ring - low or wrong oil.
My TS 2.6 has 220,000 Km on it, I do slow changes and no crunches at all, no grinding. New clutch 1,000Km ago. Silky smooth changes when warm, notchy when cold.

Petty sure its the gear box oil.. its the only place i noticed a bit of oil is leaking under the car, and when the car is stationary and i change gears and its silky smooth. Only a problem when im driving and its cold. Will get it changed asap. I wouldnt be suprised if the seal needs replacing also.
