As title says. Replaced the battery in my remote for my KJ Verada, attempted to reprogram it but was unsuccessful. Anyone got any advice as to what's happening? For the record, I bought the car when it was not working so it's possible the remote is just stuffed, I do have a spare, also not working.
Does anybody have any advice?

Check the circuit board of the remote, where the battery holder solders onto the board.
It is common for folk to break the solder joints by trying to pull the battery out - or even just dropping the remote has the mass of the battery acting on two small solder joints. This can lead to breaks.
If that doesn't show any obvious problem, then it might be E-bay,. Wreckers, or Spares Counter for replacement remote. If the solder joints look suss at battery or anywhere else on the board, you can attack yourself, or get nerdy mates to fix for you. Or pay someone.
Maybe, just maybe, try coding your remote to another Magna - if it works on a different car you know your remote is actually OK and your receiver antenna may be playing up - this has been a common fault for some. Its often just a poor connection (plug/socket) under the steering shroud - Srach forums for "remote" etc and you should find informative old threads about this.

Still doesn't work when you take it out of the plastic shell and just use the circuit board buttons directly? My remote is temperamental and the only way to get around it is to either hold the battery down or wedge something between the shell and the battery to force it down.
