First I have tried searching - but I need something more specefic.

First, are power window regulator and power window motor the same thing?

Driver side power window of Magna TJ SII 03 decided to stuck at 1/4 way in the morning today. Stupid clicking sound and only moved 1/4 way up and down. I opened the loom in the afternoon, only to find that the plastic thingy is still not broken and the cable also looks fine, but now with the press of the switch the window does not move a single bit. I can hear a single click with the press of the button, but nothing else. Checked with Mitsubishi and they are asking for 670 :( Wreckers want 165 for power window regulator. All other windows are working fine.

Now the question is - do you think the motor is gone and assuming the motor is gone, will it be enough if I get the window regulator unit from the wreckers (or I have to get a motor seperately)? Also its a series 2, so does anybody know if it came with the old fashioned window regulator or the new one (the white plastic thingly looks strong)?

i think from memory that the window reg is all one unit as for the window reg is the whole unit and the motor is just that the motor of the window reg assembly

On the older styles it is all one unit (i.e. TH). On the newer ones the individual parts can be replaced. I am not sure which one you would have.
Around the $600 is a common price. And the replce them with the new design.

The unit as shown on ebay (last post from cosmo) - Is this the older style unit or the new design? Mine looks like the same - I can see the cable drum in my unit and its not moving, probably the motor is gone. :(

One brand new redesigned regulator is $375 from Mitsu, I paid $50 and bought a used (but working like new) one to replaced a dead one in my Verada, worked great. Was all one unit.
