Got a ball park figure on installing a MIVEC 3.5 anyone?. Got about $5,000 burning my pocket. Or would you just mod the hell outta the SOHC???

hmmm...... turbo your SOHC, you'll get 200kW at the wheels if you pump the boost up enough. :)
Just getting the 3.5 MIVEC alone won't get you the 200kW at the wheels.

Just getting the 3.5 MIVEC alone won't get you the 200kW at the wheels.
And good luck finding one. I know where a Mivec 3.0 and a DOHC 3.5 is but that's it. Besides, I doubt the 3.5 Mivec would drop straight in. Maybe you could just swap the heads.

If you really want MIVEC, get the mivec 3.0l as you wont find a mivec 3.5, they're just not anywhere :(
The mivec 3.0 is about 180kW stock at the fly. So 200 atw is attainable, but it'll take some work, you wont get away with just basic mods.
You'd probably be better off spending the money you would on the mivec on your sohc and doing it that way.

got $5000 hey... i reckon... buy ticket to japan... go and find a 8A80 or 6G74 MIVEC... stick it in a box (with a heap of ralliart gear) and fly back!! it will probably end up cheaper than buying it here!!!

now i look at the money you have again, i think it's not enough for the 200kW mark you want at the wheels. I think you'll need at least $7000 to get close.

although, he did mention he did want to get to 200kW... doesn't mean exactly at the wheels?
getting 200kW at the engine will still be plenty of fun (more than a ralliart!!) and should be easily attainable with $4000... many people have cars about the 140-150kW @ the wheels, which should be about 180-190 at the engine... how much have they spent on mods??

that's a good point, 200kW at the Engine is easy, 200kW at the wheels is slightly harder.
I think Booya's engine is worth looking into for the money you have. .

if booyas old engine is still up its good value and gets u what u r after, other wise i think u might be close with 5'000 buying everything new if it 200Kw u r after, might depend how much the labour u can do yourself.
