Basically when we bought the car the towball was detached and we have never used it. I am off to pick up a car tomorrow and went to fit the towball to put the car trailer on tomorrow but when I put it on it looks really funny, it seems to sit very close to the car and the tounge does not sit level it points upwards slightly, all I have is the towball the tounge and two bolts is there prehaps a part missing, if some one could shed some light that would be great,

Cheers guys

i would say get a new one as there is no point in trying to repair it unless u got a propane oxy to heat it up and bend it back to shape

even so with the bend doesnt it look a little close to the bumper too, mind you having it straight would bring it away from it a bit i guess

How far is it safe to tow an Auto, it is not as the trans will not be lubricated

Also is dangerous and in most states illegal

Pretty sure it's illegal to flat tow a car in QLD, as it is in most other states I think. Call someone like mr tow to get the car.

Thanks for the info guys, and the pics hypermagna, yes the old girl has got evidence of a R**t in the boot at some stage of her life, best option now is to 4get the towball and just go with a tow truck.

cheers

Depending where in QLD you are, I've used this guy a few times and was cheap (towed my cosmo when fuel pump went for $50 and once when I blew the gearbox for $40):

From the pics it looks like the actual ball is bent?

with the weight of a car trailer it should drop the rear down abit making the bar more level. Remember there designed to work on angels for dips and grades etc.
As for the hit in the back i'd check all the bolts before using if at all depending what damage you think was repaired and current structural strength

This is just a point of view as with out actual seeing its hard to judge the angle etc.
