Hoping someone can identify this front lip. Supposed to fit a TF but if you look at the pics, there is no way it fits. As you can see, it says Talon on the back, but from researching other posts, doesn't seem to be a Talon at all.

No, bought off Ebay, advertised to fit a TE and TF, but no fitsy! Not even any mounting holes or the like!

Looks similar, but it doesn't flare out as much on the sides i think. What about the pics of it not fitting. There's no way I can make it fit is there? Doesn't seem right.

looks like you need a TH front bar for that to fit on. you just out bid me on ebay for that lip. :rant:

Yeah. TH/TJ only. It's a snug fit. Only 8 screws are supplied to fit it, no instructions, no predrilled holes.

Unfortunately the pictures you have showed me are quite normal small imperfections for a fiberglass bodykit component. I would be interested in seeing a larger angle shot of the whole front spoiler fitment. This front spoiler (along with the side skirts mentioned) were ordered in for a client some years ago and has been in storage ever since. The kit as you can see is listed as the correct fitting for a “TE Magna”. The front spoiler is made by a company called “Talon Body Styling” in Sydney who has been around a long time making body kits for car manufacturers and resellers alike.



I will not hide from the fact that to fit this front skirt to your car and many other similar fiberglass components you need to arm yourself with a file, stick of urethane, a few screws as well as having the patience to fit, remove, modify and refit the part many times to make sure you achieve the best fitment to your car. Any decent panel beater should have no problem in doing this for you.



The best I can do is check with the manufacturer on Tuesday (after seeing a full frontal picture of the car and spoiler) to confirm that this imprint in the bottom of the skirt could not possibly be incorrect. If you are not confident to take the additional steps to fit the part correctly I will happily take the part back for a refund.

Anyone had to do all this filing etc to fit their kit to their car? I think its clear from the photo's that no amount of filing will get this to fit!

Is it of significance that the spoiler says 1999 TE magna? I thought 1999 magna's were either TF or TH, NOT TE?

Well there's no difference between TE and TF. TH started in 99 so that's kinda pointless. Regardless, the GSR front lip only fits TH and TJ front bumpers. There's a different bodykit Talon made for the TE/TF, look at what's available on this page - http://www.spoilernet.com.au/Vehicles/mitsubishi_magna.php

Talon don't even list the GSR bodykit on their website any more, but they still make them for order.

So if the spoiler I have IS a GSR for a TH, why have the stamped the bottom of my spoiler with TE? Stuff up on their part?

Because Talon aren't Mitsubishi, and probably aren't up on Magna models, so not surprising if it's wrong. I'll have another look at my lip and see if it says anything.

Points noted. It is obvious the manufacturer has labeled the skirt incorrectly. I am still confident it can be fitted and I would happily undertake it in our workshop if you were around the corner, but without the access to fiberglass and body filler etc it is not a reasonable expectation to assume you should be prepared to do or pay to have it done elsewhere. As noted previously I am happy to refund the product in full.



Please advise what you wish to do.

So, good result, thanks to everyones assistance. This owes me $157 all up. Anyone want this, before I return it to the ebayer for a refund?

FWIW mine still says 1999 TE yes.

Hmmm, seems they got em wrong! Wel, had a quote from Talon today of $280 delivered. So I imagine I will be sending this back tomorrow or Thursday. If someone wants a cheap TH lip, ($160) nows the time to get it. PM me if you want it. I can hold it for as long as you need as long as payment is made. Get in quick.

Yeah, that might be the way to go. Don't think I will ever find one this cheap again. Cost a bit more then I had planned, but still cheap in the end. Will think about it before putting it in the for sale section. Thanks for eveyones assistance.
