Can't imagine it would be an issue Jase. Actually, with a big enough hammer, nothing is an issue. You looking at 5spd in an early 3rd gen?

Lukes TE shat a trans last nite. Goes into gear but wont move. Something inside is wrong. Was expecting to let go sooner or later. Have been talking about trowing a 5sp TJ trans in it but wasnt sure if it will work.?
Manual conversion time for Luke then?

i have a spare 4 spd tranny. that would bolt up with no mods, never had a problem with it
When I was looking at this from the information I could gather you need the gearbox (obviously) ECU, harness and Shifter box. Things like the 5sp cluster obviously aren't required but would probably be useful in which case you'd need the dash loom too I'd image.

Standard 4sp tippy box is the same box as the non tippy, it is the TCU and the shifter that make the difference.
There is at least one member in Vic who has placed a 3.5 trans into the 3.0, was a few months ago and he posted in an old forsale thread of mine, if you hunt down the FS thead where I was selling my engine and trans, he was in there somewhere
