Check the centre electrode - it it looks rounded at the end, worn down and not flat across the top then maybe you should change them out. The same goes for the electrode arm-check that, as they wear / taper down on the inside edge where the spark crosses from the centre electrode. The bosch double platinum and bosch fusion plugs as well as other brands of platinum plugs are good for approx 100,000 k's. Non platinum plugs are good for approx 30,000 k's. Oil leaking onto the plug leads may soften, swell up the rubber and make them difficult to remove from the plug.

If there's oil in the spark plugs you need new spark tube seals. $15 each from Mitsu. Cheaper aftermarket if they make them.

I noticed you have champion plugs. Never heard a good word about them. If there out just replace with ngk of your choice. I'd go platium plugs and you wont have any worries for about 100,000k's

Champion are crap plugs. not even good for lawn mowers etc.
remember working in a lawnmower shop many years ago (when we had lawn to mow) put in a new champion plug tried to start the engine would not go put in anothor plug away it would go. very hit & miss with champion plugs.
i would be changing the front plugs every 20,000-25,000km & the rear one about 70,000-80,000 km
have seen platium plugs absoutley stuffed at 60,000km.

Actually Champion are awsome for a mower, but that is about all they are good for
The plugs being Champion are the original ones, I would be looking to change them over to the NGK platinums, I personally will not use anything else

on this note, i changed the rear spark plugs yonks ago, and the plastic thing which goes down to the spark plugs which you have to pull out first i broke, the wiring inside it is fine, but dont know if this effects it at all, what do you think?

save your money up replace spark plugs rocker gaskets tube seals all at the same time saves pulling the manifold off to do again
as already siad in this thread
the tube seals are stuffed thats why you got oil on leads
i got a new set of leads of ebay for 51.00 delivered i paid 38.00 for two gaskets i just used gasket sealant for the tube seals as mitsi wanted 19.00 each for them
spark plugs well depends what brand you like i paid 150.00 for mine all platnium but you only really need them on the back as they are the ones you can not replace with out taking manifold off
if you can take manifod off yourself id say just put sealent over the tube seals you dont normally worry about leads and spark plugs if the car is going good

Hi can you please provide a link.
Also can someone please advise me of the correct heat range for the TJ VRX? Online listings say 6 but the manual says 5.
(heat codes i'm referring to are NGK so higher=cooler)
Thanks
