Hi all,

i am a new member to this site and thought i would post a pik and ask some questions. Firstly this is the 2nd Mitsubishi i ever own (first was an old triton ute), i have always been a ford freak and was a regular on the forums for fords. After a few family members purchased magnas and swore by them, i thought i would give them a shot.

I own a 02 KJ Verada Xi, this gets driven a lot by my wife and i have done a few minor things to it to differentitate it a little from stock. This car is purely a family car and i dont have any plans for engine mods at all. after owning this car for about a year now i absolutley love the smoothnes, quietness and prestige of the vehicle compared to the fords...

Mods i have done:
18" black dished rims,
VRX wheel flares,
Really Dark Tints
Clear indicators
K&N air filter
Tinted rear Tail lights

So far i am very happy with these mods, although now with the flares and the wheels i really want to lower it, reading through the posts most recommend superlows up front and lows in the back. this is not an option for me as i want to maintian the ride comfort and want it to clear gutters and bumps, I have had plenty of really lowered cars but now i want this to be sensible. i dont mind the back height too much so i was thinking of either putting pedders lows in the front, and keeping the rear standard, or putting pedders lows all around. If anyone has any pics of their car with low all around, or just low in the front please let me know so i can check out your profiles.

Also how are King Springs in Magna's/Verada? i know they are very bumpy in falcons, hence why i am opting for the pedders range.

Also my drivers side mirror glass has fogged up, i know that the verada has the anti glare in them and i cant find a mirror at ANY wrekcers, everyone tries to sell me the standard mirror but you can see that the glass has this anti glare mechanism when you pull it away from the frame, it has a cable that attaches to the glass, so if anyone knows where i can get a replacement glass and/or whole mirror please let me know. Im in western syd.

anyway here is my ride... sorry about the picture qualtiy and ranting on but any advice/ help will be appreciated!

Regards.

Do a search on lowering. I've got King Lows + KYB shocks in my VR-X and I reckon it rides better than stock. It's firm, but still very compliant. Lows aren't ridiculously low - as long as you remember to take things slowly and on an angle, you won't run into any dramas. If you're curious, check out fellow forumer onkytonk's Verada (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63366), which is on King Lows. Superlows may not be for you - they're softer and lower than Lows, so they're more prone to hitting the bump stops.

Nice looking Verada mate, the silver+black wheels are a perfect match for a white car. Will look the biz when it's lowered.

Thanks for the reply, def. will do some more research, the height of onkytonk's Verada is perfect and exactly what im looking for... so i know the ride height now... will research the springs/ shock set up.

i was a bit iffy of black wheels to start with and they were an impulse buy, but i must admit they have grown on me...

You might like to consider Lovells (http://www.lovells.com.au/) springs.
From what I've read here they are a bit softer then Kings.
I have Kings springs in my Magna and love the firm ride and reduced body roll. But you will loose that "magic carpet" ride of the Verada.

OK, now that i've seen the flares fitted, i will NOT be fitting them to my car like that. Other than that nice car.

Nice Verada!

Starlight White - such an awse colour :) when its clean and polished, it just has soooo much depth to it - sometimes i wish i could just dive in and swim in the paint!!!!

just dont dent / scrape it - its EXPENSIVE to repair/paint

when your referring to the cable to the glass and a flame to it, are you referring to the automatic electro chromatic rear vision mirrors?
can still get them from mitsu... but be prepared to pay for it.
wreckers would be your next best bet.

Nice rada :)

thanks for the feedback guys, the white is amazing... it is so white compared to any other car i have seen. i really do need to respray the back bar, but with a baby on the way and a pram in the boot i will wait a few years i think as i am sure it is going to get some more scratches.

the mirror, yes i am referring to the electro chromatic rear vision mirror, in the mean time i have just stuck another mirror on top so i can use it until i find the right one.

in regards to the flares- not everyones cup of tea, but i love them as they make the car look chunky, especially with the rims, i must admit it does look a little akward from certain angles... i would love to get a little lip spoiler to match but i dont think they make them...

i will look into lovells, i want to drop it a bit purely for cosmetics so yeah maintaining that cushion like suspension would be good.

welcome dudette! FIrst up the black rims make the body oh so much whiter! great impulse buy! But holy smokes..how dark is your tint mate! cant see a thing in full daylight! i like..i like! Ive currently got pedders sports ryders now. Nice managable height..but i seem to feel a harsh ride even thought everyone says sports ryders are one of the cushier springs! Mate with a baby wouldnt your best bet just be stock..last thing you want is a sleeping angel turn into the crying devil coz of a tiny pothole in the road! lol

Hey mate.
Nice ride.
Have a look at my album pictures. I have a KJ II in white on kings lows so it will give you a good idea on how yours will look.
I Have kings lows with Monroe GT gas shocks and they are a perfect combination. Still a very cruisy/cushy ride.
The only time you know it is lowered is when you hit a huge pot hole then there is a little more of a thud but other than that, you wouldnt know.
It handls so much better lowered too.
I also have out the front another KJ with stock suspension and i recon my lowered KJ rides smoother than the standard height one.
Bi of advice from LOTS of experience mate, steer clear of pedders with your verada. 3 veradas of mine now have been through the pedders money wasting machine and now all run kings and monroe products.

Im running king superlows on my magna. I love the ride, the only problem i had was my front mud guards were scraping on speed humps, so i took all four off. Kings are good as the have a great warranty. My next step is putting on some koni front shocks. A couple $100 more then KYBs but worth it, im told.
