Anyone have any idea of the cost of the right engine mount (the one you can see).
Mine's breaking and I would like to get an idea of the cost.

I got a new engine mount on my car around 2 months ago for $150, although I dont think this includes labour cost..

Just checked my reciept, they have charged me $44 for labour, so a total of $194 for the Engine mount replacement...
Hey Elwyn, I thought my mount was genuine, but mine was only $150?.... how can I check?

PM Megatron (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/member.php?u=135), he was making Urethane engine mounts at one stage, not sure if he still is.

@Rory,

Aftermarket one we used looked quite similar to genuine, but if you compared sisde-by-side there might me tiny differences. The genuine ones that we replaced were quite complex in the rubber moulding (you see it when it breaks apart) but there is no way to tell if the aftermarket is the same or not - its all inside the rubber moulding.

As Mal said, the aftermarket ones seem to be working quite well - I haven't had the gen vs after-market replacements in long enough to notice any difference and there is no deterioration in either of them. If you got an aftermarket one, be satisfied, if its genuine then you did not get ripped-off for parts pricing like I did!! The Mitsi Dealer in tamworth has merged "been taken over" by the Holden Dealer - our spares are quite dear compared to metro prices......

There's a DIY option if you don't mind getting your hands dirty.
Fill the old mount up with Sikaflex Polyurethane.
There's a couple of threads here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32670) and here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26803), or do a search for "engine mount sikaflex"

I want something done right because:

1. my parents are paying for it, they said they would:happy:
2. If I do something wrong, I could do even more damage at the end of the day.
