View Full Version : What size screws/bolts hold the engine undertray on?
Sorry team, really silly question. My undertray was stuffed so took it off when we did the engine swap in April. I have the new tray, but forgot to grab the screws/bolts when I was at Mal's. What size are they please and I'll go buy some on the weekend.

if your talking about the black plastic tray underneath then it is those stupid plastic screws.

The plastic clips with the centre phillips head screw have a body diameter of 8mm.
Cheers
Cool, thanks guys.
Under a bit of heat at home "don't buy any more car parts until you fit the ones you have now". I've only got an undertray, rear wing, tail lights (clear), interior carpet, front grill (awaiting colour coding) and an alloy for the spare wheel - it's not hurting anybody. Mind you, I can't sit on the couch in the garage and watch TV without moving it all now, so I suppose I should get some fitted.
Do I say anything about the wife's 14 handbags - no...

The front of the tray is held on with 7 - 6x1.25mm bolts, have 10mm heads with wide washers (6x1.25 being bolt size and thread pitch)
Each end has a scrivet going into the side trays and there are 2 behind the tie down hook.

Scrivets can be "upgraded" to any convenient nut/bolt you find!!
Slight hi-jack: Anyone know about an "improved" engine splash-guard/undertray which is mentioned in the Parts List Thread - how is it different? Any good?
My cars tend to catch the tray on parking "slabs" if I park a bit close - they catch when you reverse out of the spot. (Maybe parking lessons and attention would be my solution?). Just wondering if someone knows about "upgraded" version.
I have the new and improved tray I think it's called a TL undertray. It looks flatter, I'll let you know how it goes once it's on. And will advise a PN when i find the invoice.

How much did it cost u mate? Did u get it from mitsu?
Yep, straight from Mitsi. I think it was $30 - can't find the invoice. It wasn't that expensive, the leafguards cost more and they were $38.

Edit; Part no is MR922448 Panel Under Cover FRT and was $30 inc GST from Preston Motors in Dandenong.

or just pull it off and not worry about it??
I thought that too - but the mud etc flicking up into the bottom of the engine bay is getting slightly impressive now we've had a bit of rain. The other thing I thought when I was looking at it yesterday was "man, this front bumper is a mess - maybe I should be looking to replace it.". I reckon even a respray won't fix it, heaps of knicks and scratches in it...
Thanks for all the answers people, I'll pick up the bits Mal described this weekend.
