So as you would know a few months ago there was a whole heap of ppl keen and eager to get their ECU's flashed with a SKR tune..
how did it go??
anyone get some rediculous differences in the way it drives?
how was economy and drivability? as you would have to religiously use premium 95+ (not such a big deal for some)
best $400 (odd) you have ever spent on the car??
cheers,

Might be wrong but,Don't think they have had it done yet.

yeh i realise that.. but that was closed with the last post in march.. with the advice that is was going to get kicking again in april...
now 2 months ontop of that... just seeing if any of the keyboard worriors had actually did this??
hence this post.. as the other one is locked..

have a chat with Type40, he's the most recent SKR customer. check out his dyno chart in this sect.

Got mine done on the 6th of June, car went from 141kw to 156kw atw. Torque figures saw higher gains I think, don't have them with me at the moment. I noticed an improvement, especially 3rd gear response.
Worth the $400.... Yeah, worth the 3 grand it cost to go to Adelaide...... I'll let you deceide

156 kW @ FW !!! What's under the bonnet??? (don't say: "a V-6").
What does the "flash"do exactly?

I had similar gains with mine but not the 156 you are experiencing. That's brilliant!
Mine went from 130kw to 145kw on 98ron and 120kw to 132kw on LPG. So im happy with the gains Steve achieved with mine. When you look at what supercharging achieves at $xxxx and what a reflash achieves at $500ish this is definitely a more cost effective way to get a performance gain.

What a flash does is reprogram your fuel mixture and spark timing within the ECU. So tweaking the factory settings and tuning it to run on 98ron will give you a performance gain and if lucky a gain in economy.

15kw gain? Thats pretty decent! :D
So can somebody explain exactly what steve does? Coz cant any tuning place tune the ECU? My mate seems to think I could get a tune for 98ron at the ford dealership place he works at....Is this true?

Not for a magna, need the ecu codes and not many people have access to them, Afaik Steve is the only one that u can get to tune a stock ecu, there's old threads that explain it better than I can

Good good, just wanted to hear the story.
So it is properly re-tuned ECU function done on a dyno. In that case, it is cheaper option than a "piggy back chip". But as mentioned, there are not many ppl who knows how to do it properly.
I'm still quite baffled about those power figures before and after tho....

Either a freak of an engine or a happy dyno
