I have a friend I have known for over 20 years and she has never I repeat never sought my help when she buys her cars. Her first car was her dads Triumph Dolomite auto, a great little car but her dad in his wisdom had one of the double strongburg carbies shut off so it always ran like a bag of ****e.

From there she went to spend $5000 on a basic GJ Stigma, 2.0 auto that she ran into the ground.

Then onto or backwards to an XF ex taxi ....

From there to a 93 Hyundai excel auto 5 door, that she still has but it's blown the auto and fixing it will cost more than the car is worth even though the engine and body are great.

Now she tells me her hubby has a friend who has a mate up in Sydney (we live in Melbourne) who is selling a 2001 exec with 200,000kms on it for $4100.00 and that's their new car! I asked about servicing and such and she has been told it's just had it's big service, so when I asked if she had seen receipts or books she told me it was in Sydney. It sounds like another disaster!

OK I am a girl but I know a little bit about cars ...... it's so frustrating.

By the sounds of it,its her way or the highway and doesnt want good advice,so it may be harsh but i say bugger her,let her buy it and if it throws a leg out of bed, tell her "i told you so",some peple cant be changed/helped,so must learn form their possible mistakes for them to open their eyes, having said that, some never learn anyways!.Just be happy your cars all run fine is my advice

Oh and EDIT,by the chocie of her past cars, she is beyond help, walk away lol

I had a look today and it's the same Pearl White as my wagon.
Lowered with 18" wheels, tinted windows, debadged and a $2000 sound system.

So it looks the goods, fingers crossed it all OK.

It looks great, so fingers crossed for them it's been serviced like the seller said it has been.
