hey guys. i am approaching 100,000kms and i want to do everything i possibly can in this service. all belts and the like. what i am wanting to know is,
A. what parts do i need to get (timing belt, drive belt?, other belts?, spark plugs front rear? etc)
B. how much (if anyone knows) are each or all these parts going to set me back?
C. if the drive belt doesnt need doing, when does it get done? i figure while everything is off why not do it save on labour?
D. Roughly what i expect to pay at a mechanics workshop if me and my mechanic mate dont do it ourselves?
C. anything else i should know?
cheers in advance guys.

G'day,
I am in the same situation, my car is going in tomorrow for it's "100k service" albeit at 93xxxkm. Get the full Dayco timing kit (KTBA099H i think) includes all the tensioners I got mine for $304 plus $12 shipping, can PM you the link to the shop. Also rear spark plugs need replacing $20 something each, and fronts if you put in the "standard" ones they are about $5 each. Replace the other belts (power steer and air con/alternator) they have to come off anyway why not replace them? about $90 for both. Water pump if needed (generally not at 100k). Replace fluids, radiator, brake, power steer, and oil both engine & gear box. replace all filters (except air if you have a K&N)
This is what I have just spent
Price summary:
Dayco Timing belt, pulleys & Tensioners $316 (Must do)
Spark plugs $85 (Must do)
Power steering & Alternator belts $90 (approx) (from mitsubishi may be cheaper) (Must do if not known when last done)
Brake fluid $12 (approx)
Coolant ($0) Have litres left over from last time
Oil depends on what you want say $50 not sure on Gearbox oil cost
Filters fuel $21 Oil $12
Water pump (IF required) can get for $165
So all up $575 (if water pump is needed $740)
Labour: Let you know Friday when i pick the car up. Will be around the $600 mark You can save money by doing the spark plugs and fluids / filters your self, but best left to a professional if not 100% confident on the timing belt.
No wonder the hip pocket is hurting  But not as bad as the obstetrician bill I paid the other day :woot:

Wow, 304 plus shipping, for that price I would have almost driven up from Melb and hand delivered it to you!!!!
Without looking at the price list, I think the kit I sell for the $185.00 mark for the 3.5.
If you are going to do it yourself, make sure you have the correct set up for tensioning the belt after or you may find as some on these forums have, you have no belt afterwards.
I generally charge for the full 100k service including the water pump, belt kit, plugs (6 platinum), trans fluid, coolant, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, brake fluid (all I can think of lol) about $1100 all up including labour and parts. Keeping in mind that includes the water pump and 6 platinum plugs as well!
There is a roungh guide

I can't remember what brand it was. It wasn't an Ebay special or anything. I think it retailed at about $220 so don't feel too bad.

Not having a 380 myself, just out of curiosity, why does the water pump need replacing? :S

With age they can start to leak and you need to take the cambelt off to change them. It's an insurance type thing at the 100,000km service intervals.
