Just Bought a Set of Clarion Splits...
I would like to know where your Tweeter is ??
I am after simple install that requires no Holes (EG they will be surface mount not sunken in)

Nah Install is on a Tight Budget and the local Mitsu Dealer is flat out getting anything in without having a part number or a Vin Number..

Parts List thread has Part Numbers and probably a rough guide to price of the "sail" tweeter covers - MagnaSports1999's suggestion should give a similar result, esp if they have an angled surface mount cup for your new tweets. I like the idea of a low-visual install - putting them on the triangular "delta" panel should be fairly hard to see from outside the car. The sail/delta tweeter covers would be better again, they would be about $40- the pair, maybe add later?

Yeah its on the Add later list for Sure but these are pretty chunky tweeters...
Mine are in the Factory Delta Pods, cost $18.60 roughly from Mitsu ea, thinking about putting them down in the footwells though, they're a bit bright where they are, but that's focal tweeters for you.

I was told that the Tweeter shouldn't be put anymore then 45cm
away from the speaker.
So if you put then in at the top of the doors somewhere
they would work there best.
But holes required and will be surface mount as you want.

I have Boston tweeters in the kicks as my mains and soft dome RF tweeters in the factory position as ambient. Move them round and find a spot you like. Don't rule out the kick panel either.
Mine are in my A pillars.....
However I cut holes to mount them at a good angle, so thats not an option for you.
Sail pods are a good option, otherwise down in the kick panels is the only other real option without cutting holes.

mine are where the factory ones would be, the guy who did mine, just cut holes in the tops of factory material and stuck them in the middle. you get good sound out of them, and u dont have to buy anything new to mount them cause they come factory with the car lol.

Yeah the Clarions were going to have a poor seal around the woofer.. Whilst they would have fitted, I was not keen on letting them have more holes for the air to escape...

if i had my time again id put them in the pods, instead i opted to cheep out and mount them in my door trims myself it doesnt look to bad but shreds your ears when u crack any song that isnt all bass

I had this same problem aye.
I didnt want to do too much damage to parts what would be hard to replace. (the door trim/dashboard/pillar-because mine are moulded with guage cups).
What I did was surface mount them on my power window switch facing me. I couldnt get the tweeter pods that went into the mirror triangle thing because i dont know if they evenn made them for the 2nd gen. This was the only place i could mount them without causing more damage to fragils/not easily replaced bits...
Nice work on the baffle.
Paint it, or seal it somehow - I ripped off that plastic as my first baffles were not painted, and the plastic pooled water around the bottom - creating a nice, mouldy warped baffle.
If you want to seal it a bit better, get some closed cell foam, all the way around the edge of the baffle and screw back in.

The Treble is Ear cutting in the sail mount ...
Which is what I wanted :lol
I now have the Treble on 2/10... instead of 10/10 like I did with the stockies...
The baffle is 5mm MDF with Clear coat on it already
I would have liked to do a better mount but Budget didn't allow it...
Too many Air holes for my liking... What I really want to do now is replace the rear 6x9's with a woofer that can take a little more of a cainning then I currently give them and stop the shelf from rattling when my 12 inch starts shaking...
Cool I wasnt sure if that was clear coat on there or not :)
I used 16mm MDF.....bit overkill hahaha
5m roll of self adhesive closed cell foam from clark rubber is $20 from memory, maybe $25....
