i have a kenwood KAC-8104D (1000w peak) d block amplifier, and when it is turned on there is a clicking noise coming through the subs at a constant rate. like 1 click per 2 seconds. the power light flickers off then back on when the subs click.
i am guessing it is a power problem, or there is a short somewhere inside the amp and it is cutting out, then cutting back in. (hence the click)
has anyone else had this problem?
thanks
Have you checked the earth/power connections on the amp/distroblock/body ?

Check all wiring.... Including speaker terminals.. Could be a short in the wiring some where...

allc onnections have been checked and have been working for 6 months...
i disconnected the subs, and took the back off the amp and the green thing in the center of the first picture is making a small clicking noise in time with the light flashing.

Not good
Sounds like New amp... there looks like some Scalding around the green thing...
Damn there really isnt much to a Kenwood amp....
You have the option of taking it into a amp repairer and hoping they can fix it (replace part).
Or....
New amp....

Go a Response AMP.. Might be cheaper then Repairing the Kenwood...

When you checked the wiring, expand on that, what did you do exactly?
btw is it just me or is your remote wire not connected?

I just noticed that! I think Kenwood are one of those companies that have the auto on function when they receive a signal through the rca connections though.

no, just in that photo the remote isnt connected, haha.
to check wiring, i unplugged every thing and and only had remote, earth and +batt conneted (properly) and still no luck. the light still flashed and it still made a click.
it dead set sounds like an analog watch, every second or so it makes that really quiet little click, like a watch. and when the subs are in, this click is amplified.
i think it is the power cominging in, then cutting out. when the subs are plugged in, it is similar to disconecting the power then reconnesting it.
quite a pickle.

Did you sand back the earth to the bare metal?

no, but do you really think it could be that after 6 months?
