Hey guys,
the TR 4cly i just brought keeps leaking power steering fluid every where real bad, how hard is it to remove and replace.

I have done one before, off the top of my head not too hard. If you want no mess, try and take the feed line off first as Im sure thats the lowest point anyhow then continue to remove. Sorry I can't be of more help, Its been around 2 years since I pulled my engine apart.

there is a bolt through the pump pully to look for
the rest to undo is basic comon sense

cool, its a bitch to drive with no power steering. i picked a pump up at the wreckers for $30

ok, so when i install the new pump, do i fill up the resavouir first??

Yes, fill it up, but have your steering wheel full lock one way I think? theres a trick to doing it.

you turn the steeeing lock to lock to expel any air
keep topping up the resivior
check each hose isnt leaking at the joins or threads

ok, how many L's pr ml's, the ony the that i can't work out is how to get the belt off

belt adjustment
you undo the 14 mm locking bolt on the alternator belt adjustment then slacken of the adjuster
the full amount of powersteering oil is about 700 mls for the whole system

Well after a 1.5 hours the pump is out, tommro ill put the other one back in

You will need some patience with the longer stepped bolt
for the p/steering pump
it is often hard to start

all done, well it wasent the pump at all, it was one of the ruber hoses at the back :rant::rant::rant::rant: so $3 later and she was all fixed

it actually feals good now with power steering lol
