hi guys hoping someone will be able to shed some light ive just pulled the clock out of my KL verada and noticed its has a few extra holes on the back for tyre?, speed alert, chg, and oil. anyone know if it is a simple case of putting globes in and you get these extra functions?
if need be i can pull it apart and take pics though the lcd display doesnt exactly wanna separate without heating up the solder from the circuit board which im a little reluctant to do but doing that would be the only way of showing you the circuit board

but in KL - we allready have those functions in the dash cluster itself, why would you need/want to duplicate them to the middle of the dash/car?

I know the the KE had the oil and charge lights near the clock, whereas the L series has them on the dash. They've probably just used the same clock throughout, and simply not used the lights.

to try and make some use out of that section of the instruments, a clock up there i think is just a waste

fair enough - it does look a little empty with all that space.. and nothing but a smallish clock up there.

have you got any globes at hand that will fit?
have you tried just putting one in and seeing what it does?

to be honest - i never noticed any light shine / cutouts on the front of the clock for these extra function lights - maybe they also have a different cover / face too?

For the TL/KL series, the black plastic surround for the clock does not have the symbols in it for the lights. The clocks are actually different than the KE/F versions too. However, if you really want these lights to be duplicated from the dash, Just grab a TF (must be a TF only) speed alert display and pull the black surround from it.

The cutout will be the same as your clock cutout and then the TF version has the symbols in it. Also, but matching the wiring at the back of the TF display, you can definately get the lights working. So it would be easy to just get the WHOLE TF unit and the plug and as much wiring as possible.

I did this to put these lights and a TL clock, in my TE magna ages ago. So I know they worked. The tyre symbol will not work. I have the cutout in my XI and i placed a globe in it and nothing happened. I think it is for a pressure monitor or something for an overseas model.

Hope that helps
