Hey Guys,

I've recently bought this car (TL VR-X Limited Edition) and im just trying to fix all the minor things wrong with it. I've pretty much done it all except for this. As can be seen in the pictures, there is a part of the side skirt missing on one side of the car. It's probably around 5cmx5cm. I was just wondering how I should go about replacing this? its only missing on one side...Should i ask at Mitsubishi Dealers? any idea on the cost? or try the wreckers? or any other suggestions?

its called a airdam well the mitsi guy called it a rear dog leg
anyways part number for the drivers side one is MR926370
i would be guessing the passenger one is MR926371
cost about 25 bucks for the part in bare black plastic

Does the part just clip in? superglue? :D

It has a bolt (10mm square head and is approx 2 mm thick) which slots into the plastic. Fit item to body and attach nut from behind. Don't overtighten as the bolt head will rotate in the plastic and cause damage.

Hey and i thought it was just me. I tapped a gutter once and that part fell off. I found out that it had come off before and was glued back in (the bolt part is missing). So i got some more glue and put it back but its a soft kind of glue and i can see its going loose again.

My cars red so i know if i try to buy one and paint it, it will come up a little to light or dark.

Glad im not alone :)

You can try and get you paint colour code in an acrylic spray can like I did for touch ups. Will work great on the small little part.

lol at one of the "non-self-service" wreckers today, the guy said they have TL magnas out the back, but when i showed him my car and the part, he said that part was for the VRX only and they had no VRX's so no part...bastard....!!!! oh well guess i can go back to save money...

All of the TL/W have this little part at the bottom of the rear dog leg, only difference may be the size as the VRX and Verada have little door trims along the bottom of the dorrs as well

I am having the oppersite issue, my TF has had the TL skirts and rear parts fitted, the bolt is a course thread 6mm bolt with a 10mm head. The issue I am having is the front ones will not fit so I may be offering a pair of fronts for a member to keep as spares

Once you get a price from mits can you post this up here as well as I think many need this annoying little bit of plastic

If you want to get a little paint I am happy to paint it for you mate when I do mine in a few weeks time.

Just rang the local mitsu dealer.

Part number for RHS MR926370
Part number for LHS MR926369

price of one was $24.50 so $49 for both and they had them in stock and they do need to be painted.

my local autobahn hasnt got the paint until next weds :( is it a matter of just giving it a coat or two of the acrylic spray can stuff? do i need to put a finishing coat or anything on?

PS - I also wanted a quote for a single DIN pocket...$74....WTF?!?!? wreckers or generic brand here i come
