hey guys

sure this has been covered but i cant seem to find specific information on lancer/magna front bar mods

i found a nice front end and was wondering if lancer bars fit the magna at all in any way, maybe a reo-bar swap or something orrrr moding it onto an existing bumber???

do you guys have any idea about this ? would be great because i really want this one but no clue if it would fit...

im planing on going to the shop and just putting it against the car to see if general dimensions fit so yeah but please give me all your input

cheers guys, blackbull

Doesn't carmate or jetspeed make custom bars - you pick the design and they mould it to fit other cars (including Magna).

Also, agree with others above - pics please :D

Tony, i think IF you can pull it off, it would look pretty cool, but, here comes the but, i think a rear bar would have to be considered also to tie it all in.

I've got a feeling that style front bar won't work properly with the TJ nose, more so as in physically won't fit more so than looks, so you might want to consider a TE-TH bonnet if your looking at that exact style.

Looks to me to be the same bar (with a modded top part to suit a Magna).

Edit: Just worked out how to link the above pic...

Guys,
The OP asked if this would fit, not asked for light hearted insult and comment.

If you have anything useful to show in way of comment as to how it would fit, or want to photo shop one on for the OP go ahead, if you want to just spam with useless comments dont bother as I have just deleted 13 posts and will be handing out infractions for any more i need to delete KAPISH???

Now for the OP, anything is poss, you would need to stretch it but anyone handy in making kits etc could either do that or use the above bar as a mould to adapt into your original bar.

I can nto see what difference being TE -H or TJ would make as the bonnet stops at the front bar HOWEVER it may look better with the earlier bonnet

Certainly would look different and a damn side better than those stupid Aussie Magna bars around a few years ago Also would be unique and a change from the standard clear side markers and parras which is about as far as some imagination goes these days

(Pics in post #1 & #9)
Seems that TBuTcher & SETME3 had the same/similar styled bar.

Interesting bit of info from the above linked thread...
...The front bar was made from scratch.. using a cast of the top of a std bar (around 10-15cm down) then a Nissan 180SX trial front bar... Cut the top of it and then lined it up and rivereted them together... a fair amount of fibreglass bog and then a coating of resin over it to smooth it... finaly sanded to finish...

I think its in the design of that specific bar, if you look carefully at the lines of the bar the centre section appears raised slightly, as if it were to replace the factory grille on a lancer. Because of that extra height, in a TE-TH you could simply get them to mould up the sides until it meets with the bonnet, then mesh the opening or whatever you'd like to to, but the TJ nose looks as though it would fowl on the front bar, if that makes sense.

Of course if you were going to customize it to fit a magna you could easily get it modified so the nose fits, but it might look a little odd on that design bar. Definitely wouldn't want to be modifying it to fit the factory grille like the one GRD posted in my opinion, looks a bit fugly like that, more suited to be a one piece thing than separate bar and grille by the look of it.
