Left hand side under the dash on the drivers side. Look around where the lower trim panel meets up with the centre console side trim.
Cheers

Let us know how ya go with the scan tool, as ive got a MSD dashhawk (that i used on my MPS3) and it doesnt work on the TH/TJ magnas as the magnas arnt OBD compliant, the Dashhawk cant find the VIN number to attach to but it does work on the 380, Late BF and FG falcon and Late VZ and VE commodores though.
It seems any car that is EURO3 compliant it will work on.

If you want to do this yourself, the easy way out (cost you ~$110 AUD) try EvoScan
=> http://www.limitless.co.nz/cables/
Software+Cable
Can be done cheaper/otherways but it's a nice way out.

Can you buy the generic cable and use it OK? I was going to buy the Mitsi specific cable at US$137 as I know it will work. If I can get the generic at US$57, then the software is US$20 and I'm laughing. Meant to get one last September but never got round to it - then the dollar collapsed. Intend getting a touchscreen netbook too for the car - this cable + touchscreen netbook would be awesome.
Can you use this while the car is driving? Doesn't it make some sort of warning light appear?

On some 2nd gens .. it actually disables the ABS .. so you don't want to use it while driving without haxing it not to do that.
For 3rd gens which I suspect applies to most of you I think you can.

I had an ECUDatascan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV3_PS94L2s) in my KJ and yes it would disable the ABS
hi when using evoscan while driving it does not dissable any thing as it is based on the mitsubishi mut 3
so when driving it is data logging so every thing must be working to record it just up dated mine to the lastest version now does even more with the evox
i talk to the guy that made this he is going to at some point make evoscan the same as mut 3 but with more stuff in it
