I just gotta ask a Dumb Question...

My TF Remotes are nearly cactus... They are the BIG Black remote with the 3 grey buttons...

Will the Newer Model with the Green/Red and small grey button work with the TF ???

Different immobiliser yeah. And it's not something you can just change either, because of the ecu and crap. I have a handful of TH+ remotes that are useless to me as a result of me trying to get them to work on my car. Maybe with a bit of resoldering you can change the case to use the new looking one?

Try local wreckers, as you may find a cheapo one there. Or ebay for ~$70. Mitsubishi charged me $85 for a new one.

Go to mitsu mate, pretty sure mine only cost $70 and they program it on the spot for ya. No hassle and they are the same price as the ebay ones.

They come blank or can easily be reprogrammed to your car by turning the key from off to on and back three times, the indicators will flash twice then you press a button on the remote. If the indicators flash after you press the any remote button then success. Thats for 3rd gen anyway.

I'm gonna try and squeeze the contents of the TF remote into the TJ one. Looks easy enough with a bit of cutting and soldering.

Fail. I killed the TF remote. Either the heat killed the onboard components, or me modifying the internal anntena to run from a looped piece of wire instead of the pcb stuffed it.
