the head unit will probably have 45-50 watt output and the speakers would not be all that powerful standard. however i've got a th and the standard speakers in the back are 6x9" and they go alright, i don't know what sort of power rating they've got. its comforting to know that you can fit a set of pioneer, clarion, kenwood sony etc 6x9"s in the back withing having to cut the parcel tray. :dancin:

when they say 4 *50,
it';s not like 50 WRMS it's more like 20-25 WRMS so not much power !
MOst stock units will output around 6 - 7wrms with the exception of some cars which have amps stock.
agree with BIGW. Most stock decks only put out small amounts and wouldn't quote "4x50w". And decks that do claim 4x50 usually put out closer to 16-20wrms tops.
As for the deck in your ralliart, i am unsure of the part number, but i am sure it puts out a much better output that a regular deck. The ralliart uses a full eclipse system doesn't it? I am unsure of the part numbers etc but i would say that the deck in the ralliart is a quality unit.
You'd probably be right with your idea. In the ralliart i'd suggest putting quality splits up front, have a good set of 6x9"s in the back for your bass (unless u plan on a sub) and get an amp to look after the lot, keep your deck.
As for the Sports, i'd replace the deck w/MP3 unit. Depending on your budget you could go a top of the range Alpine, or a decent lower priced JVC/Pioneer. Then grab yourself a set of splits for up front, 6" rear fill and an amp to run the lot. hen grab 1x12" or maybe 2x10" subs running off of an external amp.
For an amp i'd suggest the eclipse 85wrmsx4 unit (can't remember part number) if you are on a budget. TONKINS will do it for $600, if they don't, take your business elsewhere. If not on a budget go the JL Audio 300/4. Awesome unit. Should be able to get it for $800 from JB HiFi.
For splits everyone will tell you Hertz, Focal etc but i havn't used these brands, so i can't say. I prefer the JL Audio splits for the front. For the back i wold suggest JL Audio VR 6" speakers. You won't be disapointed.
Anyway, this threead got a lot longer than i had intended!
Cheers,
Cam.
hey, i was just wondering...why would my 6x9 in the back be playing distorted sounds? no bass at all, crackes, a little unclear, but treble seems to be a bit better. its running off the HU. my fromt 6" are fine tho.
