*** have resolved issue now with a ballf joint puller. Nuts are designed to be tacked inplace, but also have a square nut that even if snapped free, should not rotate and can be undone. Just had to seat ot properly before undooing it, while putting no upwards pressure on it. DOne and dusted.

this can be deleted now, or kept for achive.

Hey guys, im trying in vain to clean up my engine bay and ive taken to the task of moving the whole front sub-assembly. I have it all off and ready to go BAR ONE BOLT. The one stud that goes into the rail under/near where the air con condensor sits. Its a 17mm bolt that has a metal colar on it and goes into the chasis. The problem is it just free turns. The nut that is welded inside the chasis has obviously borken free. All other bolts are free and sitting ready to drop the whole frame. I cannot get access to this nut front anywhere (its insdie the panelling) but was wondering where best to cut access to it. I will be able to weld over it myself once dont but i dont want to butcher it lookign for the best spot to get a spanner in.

thanks in advance guys

its either the nuts come off like you said or its been stripped
try taking some weight off the nut and see if it would slide out, if not then your gonna have to get something to try and lock the bolt while you undo it or pressure from behind

from looking at it, the front section is a bolt where as the middle and rear sections are a stud. The middle and back sections have nuts to remove with metal collars. THis has been done. Currantly the car is supported on the subframe so there is as little pressure on the bolts at the front as possible, since they remove by dropping down. Its just the passenger side. Driver side loosened easy. I would say the nutt has broekn free as i can hear is scratching around inside the panelling. Its not inside the chasis rails either. Its just along the inside of it completely encased by panel. What a pain in the anoose
